Ministers of Word and Sacrament in the Reformed Church of America, who are in good standing with their classis, are welcome to apply. Ordained ministers from the PCUSA, UCC, ELCA, and CRCNA may also apply subject to Classis evaluation. Ordained ministers of other denominations must be examined by the Classis of the Hudson Valley, and give written evidence disavowing themselves of contrary beliefs to the Constitution of the Reformed Church in America before their application may be considered.

Each church’s search committee will specify their expectations. However, it is best to always have a resume, RCA minister profile form, and a cover letter prepared for each application.

Commissioned Pastor candidates under the care of the Classis of the Hudson Valley should contact the Candidate Care Committee to confirm they are eligible to apply. Commissioned Pastor candidates from other middle assemblies are not authorized to receive a commission with the Classis of the Hudson Valley.

The Classis of the Hudson Valley will only consider candidates from the PCUSA, UCC, ELCA, and CRCNA who are licensed to be ordained. However, candidates from those denominations must contact their judicatory to determine if they can be ordained by receiving a position in an RCA church.
